The key thing to remember is that Discord and maybe other apps won't save the effect of the bug until the GHub software is exited, effectively saving the changes so testing it was problematic bc I had to have enough tests proving my circle always went green with noise removal on and never went green with it off. My final solution was like others unchecking "noise removal". The only thing that worked for me in the beginning was like others to unplug the USB dongle and plug back in (leaving chat channel and rejoining wouldn't work). I didn't know it at the time but muting using the headset button or making no sound in discord while unmuted would cause the issue to happen. We could all see my discord audio circle (green one around your name) was static lit like I was making constant sound but no sound could be heard. Each time he would tell me my mic was messed up again. It manifested as my mate would randomly say he heard a strange noise coming from my mic (very low sound but he has good ears).
Tested this issue extensively with Discord.
